Overview
Arita ware (有田焼, Arita-yaki) is a celebrated style of Japanese porcelain that originated in the early 17th century in the town of Arita, located in Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. Known for its refined beauty, delicate painting, and global influence, Arita ware was one of Japan’s first porcelain exports and helped shape European perceptions of East Asian ceramics.
